I'll be pulling and replacing my engine soon and was wondering what the goss is on engine/tranny mounts. I can find the front engine mounts from a number of vendors but the rear mounts (#55032) are noticeably absent from the web. Is there a mount from another car that can be used? I would prefer to replace them while I'm in there.
Thank you in advance

I should have said I got a used one from Jim. Called. Did not look on the site. Gary may need new, from the wording so better specify. I was ok with a used one.

Jim K. got two sets of used transmission mounts from me. After he bought
them i was told that they are unavailable anywhere except if you can find a
used one.

If you have the size of the mounts go to Energy/Suspensions and check with them. If they don't have it but you can show a market they will make it.

Steele Rubber will re mold your old mounts using modern oil resistant
stuff. I have used them several times on obsolete stuff. Another source is
Kanter. Not cheap though.

G'day,

Jim is correct, I had the motor mount that I will use when I install the Caddy 500 in The Blue Streak re molded by Steele:

I do not 'need' new, but have always swapped out mounts on engine replacements as a matter of course. I guess I'll look close at what I have and if they are in OK condition, leave them alone.
Thanks for the replies.

We purchased 300 front mounts about 6 years ago, I tried to have the other
GMC shops purchase at least 12 each at my cost, but they refused.
We still have 60% of them left.
We have good used rear ones. They survive rather well compaired to the
front.
I also supply the headers to the other shops and do not ask but few dollars
each to handle the transaction.

The manufacturer of the A5305 replied to my inquiry:

"The A5305 is an inactive part. We do not have any in stock and will not
be manufacturing them anymore."
