G'day,

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I have been most fortunate in my 67 years on this mortal coil to have enjoyed lots of great food and tasty desserts.

This evening at Chuck and Cathy's after a delicious home cooked dinner I got to sample something I NEVER had before! Strawberry
Cake! It was delicious AND it had REAL STRAWBERRY'S in it!

There's four pieces left, it was sooo good I have got to make sure nobody gets to my second piece before I do!

I also learned something I wasn't aware of; September 2nd along with being Labor Day was also V-J Day!

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob,

I need to sit down (if we can find some rocking chairs) and find out from you about the 66th year. I turned it today and need to find out what to expect. I am all really taking advantage of the senior discounts but want to stay up to date. Surprised

Turns out that I only live about 30 minutes away from Chuck Boyd so today I thought that I would impose on Chuck and Rob and invite myself over to meet a couple of the GMC "greats" aka people who know how to keep our beasts running. It was great in meeting these gentlemen for the first time, but I was really making a mad dash over to partake of Rob's birthday cake, but alas I was too late. However Chuck offered me a RC Cola and a Moon Pie. The guys did let me buy them lunch, luckily they were a cheap date and we stopped at Burger King. In all of the excitement (for me) I forgot to wish Rob a happy birthday, so Rob, Happy Birthday!

Jerry; it was good to see you. Sorry bout Harbor Freight being out of the batteries. You and Rob had a lot of war stories in common, I enjoyed hearing them. Thanks for saving me 10 trips to the tool box on my oil leaker project. Come by anytime.

Jim -

Next time I see 66 will be the second time. Pull your SS pennies while there still are some in the fund. Pick up a Medicare card... list it as secondary of you have health inshoance at work and are working. Ask >everyone< you deal with for the 'senior discount'. Mights well to take what advantage you can of it, it ain't going away.

I can tell you how, Rob, but the alternative is reputed to be MUCH more unpleasant. Personally, I anticipate a nasty case of Bridge Abutment at age 100, I'm letting the birthdays happen till then.
