I want to hole saw a couple of nice big round holes in the floor to access the fuel tank pickups. How much room do I have between floor and tanks in my '73? Where will I find accurate drawings to locate the holes?

Yes Glenn. There are pictures and measurements on the photo site. I plan to do the same thing when I install my intank fuel pumps.

about nothing. The rear J bolts pull the tank up to the floor. The fuel lines must be in the channels on the top of tank or they get squished. The floor on a a 73/74 has recesses routed into the bottom of the floor to provide clearance for the fuel pickup fitting. I would be extremely reluctant to attempt to cut the floor with the tank installed.

Starting here are a few pics of the floor area from below. Note that the circle routing IS NOT centered over the tank but is centered, approximately, over where the fuel line connections are on the fuel pickup.

I highly recommend a Rotozip tool for cutting holes where you run the risk of
cutting into fuel lines, wires etc.. The Rotozip allows you set the depth of your cut to the precise dimension of the floor and just about eliminate the risk. I also have the hole / circle guide for my tool and have used it many times in these situations with great results.

No problem, it was good information for me. I would normally think "router" but the overall size of a rotozip would allow it into more spaces than a full size router.

I used the GMC - TOOL
http://goo.gl/LxFHT

very easy to make a small hole, map out the location of the hole underneath
and then plunge cut around the sensitive sender....
