After replacing my exhaust pipe again, another story, I noticed the GMC seemed to be idling a little rough. Got to the car show and parked. While looking through the glass I noticed one of my plugged vacuum lines on front of throttle body was lying on my aluminum intake. How did that happen? Don't know. Guess it was not put on good. Anyway, I raised the hatch and stuck it back on. Rough idle gone. Life is good again.
Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there. Oh, don't forget the grandpas too.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix.
Lately I have seen a lot of the rubber bits on top of the engine deteriorate very quickly -- even with little run time on an engine. Especially the various size rubber caps used to cover an unused vacuum port -- they crack and leak, within a year of installing. On a non-GMC the rubber dust covers on suspension parts cracked and failed -- again, a low use vehicle that was kept garaged.

This one looked ok and was tight when I stuck it back on. I suspect I may have wiggled it when I was checking the pvc line a few weeks back. I bet it was leaking on my trip to Effingham and back because I had some trouble keeping it idling then . I never noticed the vacuum gauge acting up, that is the wierd part.
