Well it's been a fun ride for the past 3 years, and you folks have all been fantastic. But, unfortunately the finances of retirement & pensions are just not going to allow me to keep the coach properly on the road. So before she ends up suffering from dust and cobwebs, I have decided I should pass her along to someone who has the wherewithal to keep her moving. She is in great shape and I want to see her stay that way.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way, through minor repairs and frustrations, and gave me the confidence to take Li'l Sister from BC to Ontario and back, on our first trip! It was a blast!!

Deb, you have been up there in B.C. in the rain forest so long, that it has
caused you to think "fuzzy". You have it road worthy and paid for. It is
costing you nothing. Wait a bit before you decide. Come to the Valentine's
Rally in February at Castle Rock, Washington and re-connect with your club.
Then, decide when the weather is better if you really want to sell the
coach.

Well Jim, I appreciate your comments, but I already know where I am on this. I have been thinking long and hard on this for a while now. I don't have a huge income and I can't afford to be so close to the limit of my budget, and still not be able to do any real travelling in her. I can do the basic maintenance, but if anything goes wrong, I can't fix it myself - I am dependent on garages and shop charges. If the best I can do is 2 short trips per summer, and then she sits the rest of the time, she will end up dying a slow death. I want to be able to head out to visit family - that's a $4-5,000 trip in the GMC with gas prices, and I can't do that. Not on my pension. Don't have that much disposable income. With a small trailer and the RAV4 the costs are down to half that, and fewer worries with maintenance and repair costs. I can work with those numbers, not with what it takes to manage the coach. I know my wallet, I know my bank account and I now know what it takes for me to run the coach. I don't WANT to sell it... It's either that or let her sit.
So it is time to make the sensible fiscal choice, and let her go to someone who can properly run her. From October to May she is grounded because of winter. And if I can only get out twice in the summer, that means she sits 95% of the time. And everyone has said that the worst thing you can do for these coaches is just let them sit.

So sorry to see it sold, find it a good home. Your price is more than reasonable, run it down the road and back for half an hour or so till someone buys it. This way it will be ready to ride when somebody gets it, and can be driven home.
I was lucky enough to spend some time with a properly run corporation who took care of their employees, so barring catastrophe I can run mine on trips of 300 miles or less to dog shows off the resulting 401K savings they matched. (Susquehanna - Pfaltzgraff)

Deb, the hard part for me is that you have been such a warm and entertaining addition to this online discussion. And even though that is the only contact I have with you, it seems like you’re a friend. My coach looks like something freshly pulled out of a lake compared to yours and I’m sure you’ll get what you’re asking. But I’ll (we’ll) miss your refreshing take on the maintenance of a classic coach and can only hope you find someone as motivated as you in their stewardship. We have a friend in Clearwater and I always entertained the idea of looking you up the next time we’re up there. Less likely if you’re rolling around in a Casita. Just know that there are lots of us lurkers on the list who value your questions and contributions. Stay warm.

WIth me being in the SOutheast US, it will get a LOT of use. :)

Very kind words. Thank you. I will likely still hang around the forum even though I may be coach-less. I will still always be more than happy to stop and talk coaches. They are the best thing on 6 wheels  If you do end up hitting Clearwater, please let me know. Love to come and chat and see your coach, and reminisce!

Hi Sammy. PM me and I can answer any questions you have. She is listed on the FB GMC Motorhome Marketplace and the GMCMHForum. I think Billy posted a couple of links earlier. I have taken a few more pictures as requested and once they transfer from my phone, I will be posting them as well. I would LOVE to see her go somewhere she will be used the way she was intended. I just found after 3 years, that I am not in a position to do that.
It will be a bit before the roads around here will be reliably GMC-able. FWD, 13,000 lb and the Coquihala Hwy in winter don't tend to play well together. But after we chat, if you do want to make the leap we can try to determine (as much as the weather service can do something like that) when the best time would be. But usually waiting till end of Apr or May is safest (but that's not written in stone either!)

Thanks Matt. I'm sorry to hear about their coach though. Awful to lose another one.
I don't plan on leaving the forum. Still so much to learn and who knows, could end up in another coach some day.

You know Deb, I actually kind of glad to hear that. I do a lot to try to get people interested in having and preserving a coach, and also some time trying to get un-connected owners into the community. You understand the value of that, but many younger people buy a GMC without any understanding of what it will take to keep it up and no concept of the support that the community can provide. In this case, I will put you in my win column.
I am the second driver of a local group (there was one before me) that I took up calling the GMC Network owner's lunch. I got on this jag because Facebook showed me a number of local younger owners. About two dozen by my best guess. I have managed to pull about a third into the community.
What I really hoped to do is avoid a situation that went by on FB a couple of years ago. A younger owner had a coach with a serious problem that could have been repaired. I wrote what had to happen. He ignored it and went with the advice from another that could not have been a TZE owner. Next I heard, it had failed on the road and that owner gave it to the towing company for the bill. (In short, it was scrapped.)
One of the regulars at these Saturday lunches (Saturday because many still have day jobs), is a gentleman in his mid eighties that just did a frame swap. He liked the "coach" of one, but it had a bad frame. He found one with a good frame that no body wanted and bought it. Here is a great part of this story....
This is not his first GMC. He/they had one years ago (it sounds like early in the GMC history) and changed out for first one larger SOB, then another and then he decided he wanted a GMC again. He couldn't find one he like, so he has built one. When he gets it all ready, I am going to drag him into the local chapter.
Oh, and yes, if you have once owned (even part of) a TZE, you are a part of the community. We will look forward to hearing from you from time to time.

Yes, we consider Deb one of us. No one knows her financial situation better
than she does. If she makes this decision, it is hers. She is sitting up in
British Columbia, surrounded by 8 inches of snow, unable to use her nice
coach until it thaws. She is Canadian, nuff said. We have many, many
Canadian friends. Like 'em all.
