For the last day or so, I not been able to log into the forum with Firefox. Forum accepts the login (The same logins used with this browser.) But then I am not logged in...
I do have a backup browser, but I to save that for things I don't care about. If anybody can tell me how to fix it, I would appreciate it.

Matt,
I logged in earlier tonight with no issues on Firefox, but when I went to log in just now to reply to your post, I could not log in under FireFox. I had to use Chrome to post this message.

Interesting...

Data point: I just logged in directly to the web mirror using Firefox 68.0.2 (64-bit) with no trouble.

Although it was a bit odd that I had to log in at all as I have saved the login locally and it usually just 'works' without logging in.

Oh well, perhaps there is a computer involved. They can be finicky.

I usually do not use Firefox but I fired it up and it worked fine
Version 67.0 (64-bit)
It is prompting me to Restart to update which I am about to do to see if it makes a difference.

I am using release 60.9.0esr. It just automatically sent me the newest update Monday and installed it. I have no idea what esr does but it is what I have always used. No problems here. So I am not much help.

Now I remember. There was something I wanted that all of the browsers were deleting By locking it down at that point I kept the feature. Please do not ask what it was I was keeping. I do not remember.

I'm using Firefox 69.0 released September 3, 2019. Maybe its just the newest release that is causing issues. It says my version is up to date, but I'm on the regular channel version, not beta.

I had to use Chrome again to log in and post this reply.

Bruce,

It seems I am now running 69.0 too.
That may be the issue.

I use Firefox exclusively and haven't had any problems. Maybe I am not running the latest update.

Well, this is on Firefox using WIN7PRO OS. I allow automatic updates, so it's whatever they currently update to. The last couple of updates have slowed it noticeably.

Logged in using Firefox browser to post this message.

Hope you don't have a virus. Yesterday I won a prize for the 5 billionth google search. SCAM. Lucky I was clever enough not to press the button to see which prize I won. Refreshed Firefox just in case it was infected. Now I don't have a button to turn off java script and can't find the addon for that.

And as of this morning, Firefox wouldn't log it. So Chrome is the move for me.

The problem is in the 69.0 Update.

I think I figured out a workaround:

If you see this post then it works, if not then it's something else.

Open a "Private Window" in Firefox (Menu dropdown option at upper right) and login normally. The private window does not allow cookies or tracking to be stored and everything disappears when you close the window)

I love computers Smile

Stu,
Logging-in from the Private Window worked for me as well.

If private/incognito mode works, then clearing cookies should enable you to go back to using standard non-incognito mode.

Thanks Christo, clearing cookies worked. Firefox said it had 12 cookies stored for GMCNet website. seems like a lot!

I am running 69.0 (64-bit) without issue for the GMCforum. However, it seems that more than a few sites are broken when I use Firefox which forces me to use Chrome. For example, about a week ago I find that I can't log into my Nest thermostats (I have 5) with Firefox, but have no issues with Chrome or my iPhone.

Amazon is also broken with Firefox, because I keep getting something I brought years ago that keeps showing up in the search box no matter what I do to delete it. That keeps me from searching for things I want. I have to use Chrome now to buy things on Amazon.

Sucks, because I still like Firefox when it works.
