Oldest TZE Owner
Yesterday at Camping World I happen to meet a fellow GMC motorhome enthusiast from Michigan. He claimed to be a retired engineer that actually worked on various stages of the GMC motorhome line and was quite knowledgeable of these old beasts. If he's on here, please drop me a line it was nice to have met you.
Coupled with the information from some of the savvy senior members on this forum and a chance encounter with the aforementioned, I have concluded that I am most likely the owner of the oldest existing TZE GMC motorhome. I came to this conclusion only having exhausted the vast resources available on the internet and a ridiculous amount of time on the phone.
As a collector of classic RVs, this is without a doubt my luckiest find to date. Interest in this vehicle has been phenomenal to say the least. Almost annoyingly. Given this fact, I politely ask that my anonymity be respected. this is not my first vehicle and having a reasonable amount of knowledge of the GMC motorhome, I had a gut feeling that this was in fact something special. Furthermore, please know that I fully understand and appreciate the historical significance of this vehicle and its place in history.
With that said, I will be more than glad to help everyone by providing data and information about this old girl and some of the hidden secrets that I've discovered
I am strongly interested in either having this vehicle professionally refurbished or accepting a trade on an already refurbished coach. Those are just a couple of the ideas I have at this point.
One thing I am sound on is the idea that if I do not refurbish this vehicle and tour it, I believe it should stay within the strong GMC motorhome community. I am dedicated to the preservation and traditions of the clubs.

So. Dunno who you are. Dunno where you are. I'm s'pposed to take your statements at face value?
I note the other GMCers I interact with are happy to identify themselves and their location to GMCers and those who wish anonymity outside the GMC circle are respected.
Hmmmmm.
Have fun with your old coach. Maybeso Gavin Govier will authenticate the 'oldest' claim.

Perhaps you should refer to Bill Bryant's post
" Here is straight, TZE063V1000022 was the 22nd 1973 production model TZE built. It is also believed to be the 2nd earliest 1973 production GMC MH sold to the public. Discount all previous development vehicles, prototypes, test vehicles & square sides which were not titled as "TZE" and are not part of this discussion."
Please note TZE063V100022 is my actual VIN and the above has an extra zero that must have been previously posted erroneously.
As for your suspicious demeanor, I have certainly had nicer welcomes on this forum.
In reference to your opinion on my desire for anonymity, one must understand that some people have occupations that are discreet in nature. Internet public forums are anything but discreet. Anyway, thank you for your post,
Mike
