This morning I completed the final steps to have my Onan running on its own. Many many thanks to all who have helped or offered advice, especially Sean Kid.

Issues resolved:

No crank - new starter motor
No spark - new points, condenser, control board - still no spark
No spark - check oil and bypass low oil shut off circuit
No fuel - run gravity fed line from aux. tank (gravity is free!!)
No fuel from pump - check, clean, repair all connections - got fuel
Reassemble all components and Mr. Onan is alive and producing electricity.

Remaining issues:

Voltage at idle is a little high at 132 volts
Check high load voltage with AC running
Remote controls are not functional

I believe the remote control wires are severed under the coach. i will have an assistant help me test continuity and positively identify each wire. I am hoping remote control should be easier than what I went through above.

Onan running is a milestone for my project. Again, Many thanks to all who have offered knowledge and advice on this and other topics.

Also thanks to Ken Frey for a great carb rebuild.

Coach runs and drives great. I will continue to work on additional safety, reliability, and performance. Wish I could be at Coos Bay.

good. What was the spark problem, low oil pressure switch? Cleaning filter in bottom of pump got the thing pumping?

Low oil pressure switch was the problem.

The Onan remote controls go through a 4 pole connector (identical to a trailer connector) that is laying on the floor of the Onan power drawer cabinet. It is notorious for getting corroded and causing remote start problems. Most people just cut it out and splice the wires together. Best to use some kind of moisture proof splice method.

Thanks. I had looked at some severed wires that were dangling below the coach. I saw the connector and assumed they were trailer wires because of the connector.

All of the other switches and gauges work on the control panel.

Funny thing, my coach has a trailer hitch but I can find no trailer wiring?
