The March 2010 Car Craft magazine has an article about a reworked Caddy motor. I am sure it is a clone of Jim Kanomata's GMC motor since they both have twin turbos. 1000 plus HP and 340mph sounds about right. Jim if you start selling them as crate motors let me know.

I have been chewed out by my good friends for being so stupid and
wasting good engines time after time. If not the engine, then the Fuel
injection computer.
I wait till the last minute then blast off on a trip without test running.
As a shop owner, I say; Do as I say, not as I do.................
Jim, our Cad has lot of trick stuff so it will live a long life and
work efficiently. Only problem is that it cannot take the overheating
and preignition that the driver makes it do since he will not replace
the fan clutch and reprogram the computer.
I have been running the same Turbo system for 20 years. Turbos have
never been a problem..

Jim, what is the status of your "ride"? Teri needs to know so she can make plans to pick up Grace if the coach is not done, for Montgomery, or she does not trust it with you behind the wheel.

Grace has travel bags in the coach so if things go wrong, we move the
personal item in her van and leave the coach.
Last time we could not locate the mile marker so she pushed the cach
till we came on one then told the tow company where we were.
I'm sure she would rather travel with Teri and you.
I could not get myself to take the engine appart to see what I did to
it. All I did was pull the sparkplugs and see that 4 of them were
jamed shut.

Jim, got any pix of your turbo setup? what kind of turbos are you running? as a turbo mustang owner, tuning is indeed key for a happy motor. preignition is not a fun thing, unless you enjoy rebuilding/replacing the engine frequently....

Hmmmmmm.....

To jam the electrodes on four sparkies, the piston have to come
up higher
than normal. This usually means the bottom half of the rod
bearing is
sharing space with the top half. This is not good. Possibly a
sudden,
dramatic loss of oil pressure. Really bad.

I also thought that but Jim says the motor is around 8:1. That is a
lot of clearance so I'm thinking he'll also need a new crank and
perhaps a new set of rods. None the less, it will be interesting to
read the post mortem.

And I thought we had a problem when a piece of piston broke off on Sandys Vette and closed the plug gap.
