Sir, the GMC column is 3" longer and does not have a plate that bolts to floor for mounting, and has a splined shaft. You will need the internal shaft and the housing including shifting mechanism. I have modified the later 2 piece shifter lever housing to work. When you swap the lower bearing/ tilt housing to get the eyelet to hold the dimmer rod do not forget to swap the transmission shifter detent block so your shifter will match the 425 3 speed and not the 4 sp od transmission.

Great links below to the step by step swap"s thanks for posting - What part of the total column is motor-home only? Can these replacement columns be used all the way to the 'Lower shaft joint assembly'? (#8 on page 16-6 of the parts book) I guess another way to ask it: Is the lower vertical part that hooks into the steering gear box the only motor home "only" section?
