Hey, Ken, Oregon is experimenting with a "per mile traveled surcharge" for
electric vehicles and hybrids. It is a black box transponder that plugs
into the diagnostic connector on the vehicle to determine and
electronically report, to the revenue department, miles traveled. The state
is concerned that their revenues will shrink with increased efficiency of
these vehicles. They are not content to reduce fuel mileage with added
alcohol. Always something I guess.

Hmmmm? How many ex Governors of Illinois have been in the past or are
currently making license plates? Heck, even "squeaky clean" Oregon governor
Kitzhaber and the first hussy, got both a state and federal investigation
after resigning just after being elected. Clean and politics? Anyway, sure
glad there are no toll roads in Oregon to drive my GMC on. There are a few
ferry boats across rivers here, normally run by counties, that charge
tolls. They are kind of fun for a change of pace.
