Les,

Let it go, you're wasting your time with guys like this. All they'll do is drive your blood pressure up!

Les,
Just put him in the "Ignore all messages from this user" list. This way you do not even know when he posts something. I did this weeks ago so I have no idea what he did to trigger this thread and I really do not care.

Usually these types of postings are from someone who has an inferiority problem and he his saying "look at me, look at me".

Back to the GMC net.

I agree with both of you, but the problem is, we have let him go too far and nobody has officially reigned him in. Several of us have tried the polite approach of asking that he fit in and be a bit more respectfull. It hasn't worked. At this point, The only way to solve this is to get the moderator(s) involved, otherwise it will continue. Do we even have a Moderator that follows these events?

By putting him in the "Ignore User" list, you have solved your own problem but many others still get his offensive messages.

Other forums have put members like this on probation where all of their posts are previewed (and edited if necessary) before release. I know that takes additional involvement from the moderators. Perhaps it is time we implement something similar here when the situation calls for it. If it requires additional moderators, then so be it. In the interest of a more civil environment, I would be willing to donate some of my time as a moderator, I hope that there are others willing to do the same.
