G’day,
I installed one of Gary Rockwell’s aluminum intake manifolds using Mr.
Gasket P/N 404 gaskets.
http://www.mr-gasket.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=652
It has been suggested that the gasket will burn out around the crossover in
the head.
If you have installed one of these manifolds I would like to know how:
1) what kind / brand / part number of gaskets did you use
2) did you install it using a block off plate on the head
3) how long have you been running the manifold (time)
4) how many miles have you put on the manifold
Thanks,
Rob Mueller

Rob,
1. Mr Gasket 404 gasket set with a thin coat of grey Permatex silicone on each side.
2. No blockoffs.
3. Installed springtime (Mar-Apr) 2008. Don't remember exactly.
4. Don't know. Maybe 2500 to 3000 miles.
So far it works great!

Last year when I installed the Rockwell manifold I used the Patterson block off plate and gasket. No problems so far after about 3500 miles. The only thing is we lost the smell of gas after a shut down. Another thing it starts right away when warm after a pit stop.
