Good evening all,
I am currently sitting on the side of Rt 70w in Missouri just past the 740 and rt 70 interchange. I probably couldn't have chosen a more precarious place to lose poweras I am about 2 feet off of the highway.
I will be reaching out to the blacklist shortly to see if there is anyone nearby.
I had some quirky electrical problems on my drive today that manifested this way; This morning, after a flawless day of driving the day before, I had no battery power when I tried to start the coach. When I pressed the aux battery switch on the console, it started right up. Then during my drive today, I could use the cruise control, but when ever I used the turn signal, or beeped the horn it cut off. I was going to ask board for suggestions tonight when I got to my hotel room, but it doesn't look like I am going to make it to a hotel
At the moment, I am inches off of rt 70 with battery power, but can not start the engine. It turns over but never catches. I am wondering if my fuel pump died, or if the electrical issue has caused it to lose connection. I have headlights, and flashers at least so hopefully people wont hit me.

Well, it appears that there is no one nearby on the black list.
I will give coachnet a call, but am not sure where to have them take me. Any thoughts?

Randy VanWinkle is at Battlefield Mo. He is on the blacklist and a huge
help on most things GMC. Don't know how far that is from you.

Bob,
First off, minimize all electrical loads except for those hazard warning
flashers.
If you have plenty of gas in the main tank, start the generator.
Open the engine hatch and remove the air cleaner. Shine a light into the
forward carb throats while pulling the throttle cable at the left of the
carb. If gas squirts into the carb throats, your problem is probably
electrical.
Rather than waste time and electrons on another step, get back to us with
that result.

Well, there is an awful lot of gas squirting into the carb! So that might eliminate the fuel filter....

Here is another data point.
After looking for gas at the carb, I turned it over and it ran for several seconds before dying. I was then unable to start it again.

Ok. I have called Coach-net and they are coming to get me. Will be at least an hour or so. They will tow me to a hotel and then work with me in the morning to get me to a repair shop. So while I am stranded at the moment, it won't be for too much longer.
I had just filled up with gas not too long ago, so the generator is running to keep my laptop and phone charged.
I would like to keep diagnosing the problem so I can make intelligent decisions in the morning. Jim G. said this same sort of thing happened to him and that it was a fuel filter issue. Those are easy and I will get a few tomorrow just in case. I assume though, that if it were a filter issue, I wouldn't have that gas in the carb.
I guess it could be an ignition/electrical issue. If so, what should I be looking for?...and buying?

"Interstate 70W". Since I470 is in Kansas, I presume you mean either MO 70
or a county road -- neither of which I can find in Google Maps. Give us an
exit number or at least the last town you passed.

Since most of my tools are already in Colorado, I don't have much to use with me, so I won't be able to use my volt meter to track things down. Would a bad ignition module act this way?

Oh, and in case anyone is worrying, I DO have a can of coke with me (warm) and some REALLY good Crispy Coconut Rolls that I picked up on a whim at Costco, so I won't starve. FYI, these coconut rolls are really good.
