I'm in the process of getting the fuel tanks cleaned out and putting electric pumps in the tanks, I'm using Emery's great writeup as a guide and I noticed my rear tank has a fitting just up the side from the fill that doesn't show up in Emery's guide. I still have all the fittings listed in the guide just an extra in the rear tank. Was there something different about the early tanks? mine is a 73.
I haven't had a chance to crawl under the coach and see what I took off of this fitting yet. Later today hopefully.

Mine has an extra as well -- nothing attached to it, just plugged hose.
Other 73 owners have reported the same.
Dennis
Our '74 had it as well, with a hose on it and a bolt stuck in the hose with a clamp. Very elegant.
