I just sent this to Rob Mueller off list. I'd like to help. But as I said. I'm missing something here. We need to understand that their issues are different from some of ours.Bob Dunahugh

Rob, I'm missing something. If you had a 83 thru 87 GM dually there. Are the rims and axles there for that 1 ton different than what we have here? If the rims, and axles are the same as here. Than why can't you get replacement rims there for that 1 ton. How can I help you with this?Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

Most importantly I appreciate your wanting to help, however, I did some checking and spoke with Mark Bennett up in Queensland and he
informed me that when GM (Holden) wanted to add a truck to the lineup they did not bring trucks from the USA they imported Bedford's
from England.

I did a Google search for 1983 GM Dually - Australia and each year up to and including 1987 and found one on eBay that was
customized and a private import.

Don Adams is going to visit Southwest Wheel in Dallas and try out the two wheels they have to see if they fit.

Dave Pottebaum noted that the wheels he bought would not fit the OEM front end.

You mentioned that the problem could be fixed by some work with a grinder and that you'd take some pictures.

This is part of what Dave posted.

dpottebaum wrote on Tue, 11 March 2014 21:50

While finishing the install, I went to Midwest Wheel in Des Moines, IA to borrow a 16" steel wheel to test fit on the coach. I'm happy to report that it fits both the front and back of the coach with no issues. If has the following spec's:

Size 16X6
Bolt circle 8X6.500
Bolt hole dia. .670
Hub Bore 4.567
Backspace 8.150
Offset 5.150

The wheel spacer that comes with the one ton conversion allows the caliper to clear the rim. This is a nice option if you don't have the greenbacks for an aluminum wheel.

Here's a link to some pix of the wheel.

Hey Rob,

I don't know if you saw my post on the other thread or not.
But I found these rims at Southwest Wheels.

They seem to have the size size and bore as what Dave had posted.
However, I am not 100% sure of the offset or back space.
Nor do I have any idea of what shipping would be to you.

Anyways, here is the link to the 16 steel rim that I found.
Hope it helps.

After your PM to me I went looking at Southwest Wheels and came across this part number 126202 showing the same sizes as what you posted about your rims in your first post of this thread.

They are only $56.95ea if they are truly the same size as what you posted.

However, if you order 6 they become $51.26ea and with shipping of $108.11 added to the cost of the rims they will be $69.28per rim when all is said and done.

Here is a link to what I found.

Rob,

Please let me and others know what Southwest Wheel number he finds that fits.

Thanks, Tony
