Time to get moving on this. It thought if I sat around long enough I (more like my wife) would change my mind but no luck. I just can't see it sitting there for another year waiting to go out again. Times change, I must as well.

OK - so here's the information. I just uploaded some additional pictures and they can be viewed here: http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/m787-bumble.html

Here is a list of things that make this GMC special to me. Drop me a note via email if you would like a particular picture uploaded. I might put it on eBay in mid July if it is still available.

1975 Glenbrook 455
146,xxx miles
6 kw Onan – (with K&N Washable Filter System) working fine but uses a little oil.
Aluminum Wheels (rides like a dream) with very nice commercial tires (probably about 10,000 miles? Will need to check logs but they look like new, always covered)
3 AC's on the roof (we like it cold)
Zip Dee awnings on both sides (full coach length)
Newer Air Bags (holds coach for over a week)
New Air Valve Assembly (oem dash mount style) with dash viewable pressure gauge
2 Air Compressors (one inside, one out)
Transmission Overflow Hose (routed to side of frame)
Transmission Temperature Gauge (runs 180-210 ish depending on ambient air temp and hills)
Grease Fittings in Front Hubs (saves wheel bearings)
GMC/Chevy Modern Steering Wheel (not the old plastic one)
Dash AC with blower horn (not currently working – who needs it with 3 roof top AC’s)
Sewer Macerator (shoot your poop 25 feet out a hose, the best)
AUX Brake Booster Pump (Vacuum Pump)
Front AND Rear tow hitch/receiver (2 inch)
Front Fresh Air Vents
Side Window Air Wings
Radiator Bug Screen
Air Bag Shut Off Valves (also have an Air Bag Dog Bone just in case)
Original Red Jack with Chain (I actually used this to change a tire before I upgraded to the new wheels/tires)
Engine Air Vents
Rear View Camera (VR3 Wireless)
Under Carpet Insulation
Rear compartment Lift Arms
Long Rooftop Pod
Aluminum Folding Step
Screen Door
Full size bed in rear (hinged)
Full size hanging bunk bed in rear (can be removed, all original rear interior included)
Upgraded Driver and Passenger Seats
Upgraded Toilet
Rear Water Spigots (mounted inside each rear compartment)
Stored on rear blocks, wheels/tires covered
Dinette Storage Hook (I should have patented this creation for storing the table in the closet)
V Hose Adapted on Fresh Water Pump for easy winterization (allows antifreeze to be sucked into the system directly from the 1 gal tanks).
Microwave mounted above stove
Video Screens (small under counter flip downs) and Video Distribution System with DVD Player
Main House Battery disconnect
Full set of repair manuals
Archived GMC articles in binders
GMC Parts Cross reference documents (very handy)
very drivable, never stranded us, very reliable

There is always work to be done... probably needs rear brakes sometime, sewer holding tank gauge not working, electric hot water fine but engine heating of the water not working (had to bypass it a couple of years ago), outside air compressor temperamental, windshield wiper blades need replaced (again), ceiling material coming loose in places, leak in heavy rains (running down the inside rail again, need to regoop the rivets on drivers side I suppose)... ... ...

Thanks in advance, Jim.

Nice coach. I'm too far into mine to switch but I am interested in your hanging bunk bed. Got any photos of it?

Sure. Putting on the memory cap...

The size of the rear hanging bed is key - there is a maximum size that will fit through the opening. I will measure it later today and repost so someone can find it later in life. It is made of smaller 3/4 by maybe 3 inch boards that are glued and screwed into thin luan (sp). I tested it with my wife so it can handle at least 350 pounds (no, she is not the big one Smile ). There are two eye hooks in the rear that connect to the chains. There are two clips on the two chains, one for up position and one for down. The front of the bed is held to the wall with aluminum channels - two for the top and two for the bottom. There is also a slide latch that holds them down so they can't pop up if someone was to lay in the very rear of the bed beyond the chains. I removed the two upper cabinets in the rear for the upper position but I probably didn't need to for the little ones as they might have fit between then. I did it so the bed could be stored in the up position but found we were leaving it up all the time for storage of all our (6 of us) bedding.

There is a gap between the bed and walls when in the down position, created some fun games for the kids as most of the stuff on the top was thrown down to the bottom every day Smile I even put a reading light on the top for the late night readers.

I'll take some photos and stick them on the GMC photo site as soon as I can get time... Boy scout summer camp is coming so I'm not sure I'll get to it for few days... Thanks for asking, Jim

OK - sorry for the delay. The hanging rear bunk bed is 45 inches deep and 67 inches long. This is the maximum size that will fit through the rear opening when the two couches are still installed. I made a flip up rail that fits along that back side that adds and additional 3.5 inches of depth making the width right over 4 feet. This extension folds up and on top of the bed when in the up position (48 inches would hit the rear of the camper when in the up position). It also helps keep bedding from falling down below - although I think that is part of the game the kids play!

I uploaded a few more pics of it a couple of weeks ago in the photo archive site.

Hope this helps anyone who is considering making the rear hanging bed. It works great for us.

Jim, could you provide a direct to those pics? I can't find your pics of the hanging bed. This sounds like a great addition.

Thanks

Hummm... I don't see them either. The album is under username Bumble and there are a couple of pics of the hanging bed, but not the latest ones I "thought" I had posted. Let me search for them in the morning and get them uploaded as well. Jim
